I have a few fields in my fact where I need to create a relationship with the date dimension. For this, do I need to replicate the date dimension by the number of fields I want to create a relationship on?
All entities are able to hold multiple relationships between themselves, so the date dimension does not need to be replicated in your use case. Simply establish the relationship with the same date dimension by clicking on the ‘Link Entities to Create Non-Identifying Relationships.’
Once our cursor has changed to reflect the icon in the taskbar, click on the date dimension and drag the link to your fact. This can be done numerous times as different relationships use different aliasing. Refer to the screenshot attached below:
